The Community has invested more than 71,000 euros in the repair of 52 social housing units in the San José Artesano de Abarán neighborhood.

This action is part of regional policies to ensure access to decent housing for people who need it most.

This was explained by the Director General of Planning, Architecture and Housing, Laura Sandoval, during the visit to housing, which recalled that the Community is working this year on the rehabilitation of 477 social housing in nine municipalities and the acquisition of new homes for relocating families in situations of social exclusion.

Laura Sandoval pointed out that the action consisted in the improvement of the waterproofing of the supply network, as well as the replacement of the interior drainpipes until its connection with the collectors and the repair of access stairs to the houses on the first floor.

The public housing, on rent, was built in 1982 and is organized according to a closed block scheme, with access from the central space.

They are located on a plot of 2,720 square meters, with a total constructed area of ​​4,695 square meters.

Works

The rehabilitation works, which began in June, have involved the lifting of the entire pavement of the first floor access corridor to proceed with the review of the slopes, the correct waterproofing and the provision of a new anti-slip flooring.

Sandoval said that to improve the evacuation of water from the terraces of the first floor, the existing drains and drainpipes have also been replaced, as well as the revision and repair of the collectors that run through the sanitary chamber.

On the other hand, the access stairs to the first floor houses have been completely raised and have been stepped and paved again, as they presented problems due to deterioration and debris.

Finally, the punctual repair of those cloths in the interior patio in which the exterior cladding had been detached has been made, with the idea of ​​improving the waterproofing of the exterior facing and avoiding possible later pathologies.
