Six chess players competing for the title on the final round of the championship (03/06/2011)

Following the results from the seventh round of the XXVI Individual Chess Championship Absolute regional, which began to be played in Abarán on 2 April and ends on Saturday, June 4, José Antonio Ponce and Carlos Tudela FM, both of CA Totana with Felipe Alcaraz, CA Willows, leading with 6 points classification, yet to be decided in the final round in which six chess players competing for the title.

Tudela Ponce and tied a competitive and very close game on board one, while black Felipe Alcaraz defeated his club mate Blaya Serrano and presented his credentials as a serious candidate to win the championship and will play with white in the first board against the first ranked Ponce Valero.

The MC (Master Candidate) Angel Paredes beat Murcia José Antonio Guillén Parra and also has options as well as Ivan Lucas, who won his game against his former club mate's José Luis Miñano Skull.

And the sixth player with an option is Daniel Alarcon Olmos, who has 5.5 points after beating Jose Borja.

Moreover, the absolute regional champion Manzano Alejandro Escudero, Chess House Murcia, retrieves the tone by beating local player Juan Luis Saorin though, with 4.5 points, remains without possibility to regain the title.

The closure will take place this Saturday, June 4, at 20.30 at the local game.
