The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS) will invest 1.8 million euros in the refurbishment of 908 houses Public Advocacy (PPV), thanks to the agreements signed by the Minister José Ballesta and the mayors of eight municipalities, among which is Abarán.

Abarán City Council will receive € 200,000 to improve 52 homes in the Barrio de San José Artesano, a move that the town mayor, Antonio E.

Gomez will serve to revitalize sectors affected by the economic crisis while this measure will support employment in the municipality, will address the social work of this type of housing, trying to increase the quality of life of tenants.

This is an action taken by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning to promote investment in municipalities.

Gomez has said that it will form a technical committee with the Institute of Housing to determine the type of remodeling of homes depending on the needs presented by each municipality.

Caravaca, Cartagena, Cieza, Cehegín, Molina de Segura, La Union and Puerto Lumbreras is the municipalities that, together with Abarán have received this "injection for improved housing."
