Approved the proposal of the government team for the AVE line Albacete-Murcia (12/12/2008)

Ordinary Plenary Session held in the City of Abarán, approved with votes against the Municipal Group Socialist votes for the Popular Party, (the IU spokesman, Pablo Javier Rodríguez Soler excused absence), the proposal of the government team for the AVE line to run in the Albacete-Murcia and his time in Cieza.

The Councillor for Agriculture, Federico García Montiel, defended the proposal saying that the network of Murcia is out of the European High Speed Railway and its path is drawn only from Madrid, Valencia, Albacete and Alicante.

Therefore, the council has explained that "the union of Albacete and Murcia by high-speed line, with the prospect of execution of the works set for 2020, will enable an important contact and communication with the rest of the region and around the national territory as well as the economic and social undoubted benefit. "

Areas would benefit all the regions: Northwest, Highland and Vega Alta, serving more than 200,000 people.

Different areas would be at a distance from the station "North Gate Region between 10 and 20 minutes, provided by the N-301, the county highway and 3314 (future highway from Andalusia).

The plenary adopted the following measures:

.- Pick the route of the AVE from Albacete-Murcia by Cieza, looking at a station stop it (from the North Gate) using the variant of cliques in the environment "Venta del Olivo", next to the bridge that crosses the county 3314, which connects the regions of the Altiplano and North Vega Alta.

.- That this branch of the Madrid-Levante is a central government priority.

.- To urge the National Government and the Region to support the alternative of Cieza AVE stopping at the "Venta del Olivo."

.- Urge the Government of the Region to design an alternative future network AVE station stop at "Venta del Olivo."

.- To inform and request support from the Regional Government, Regional Assembly, the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, in the municipalities most affected by it, business organizations, trade unions and political parties in the Region Murcia.
