Group A LOT TO LIVE

The Spanish Association Against Cancer in 1994 created a program in Spain for women affected by cancer called Long Live Group whose aim is that the cancer may have life.

These therapy groups operating within the AECC to provide psychological support to affected women and support groups are the same members.

The program is a comprehensive plan of support for women diagnosed with breast cancer, although currently it is open to other affected by cancer.

An ambitious plan which applets are intended to give individual and group counseling, both patients and their families.

Its acceptance is such that it should be noted that there are groups composed of not only patients but by other organizations and individuals, groups receiving very actively collaborating with the Spanish Association Against Cancer.

Among the activities carried out within the Plan, include subprograms aimed to support newly diagnosed women, such as peer support, workshops or leisure.

More to Life Group of Abarán consists of 21 members and is mainly characterized by their entrepreneurial spirit, as most of the activities carried out are proposed members.

These patients and their families receive psychological support from the Spanish Association Against Cancer.

In the Region of Murcia there are now eleven groups like this.

Women who are part of the Program for Living Much different activities throughout the year.

Of all these, we highlight those dedicated to leisure, such as flower arranging workshop, paint, or makeup work.

What characterizes this group is the support they provide their members with each other, a therapy of mutual support and encouragement aimed at beating their disease.

The exhibition was inaugurated at Abarán and toured the region of Murcia.

Another challenge was to make in just four months huertano new costumes for the giants of the Association of Big Headed Giants and "Uncle Pajero" in Abarán.

The preparation was carried out in a sewing and embroidery workshop proposed by the SHG.

The main objective of promoting the creation of the costumes was <<agradecer Abarán people of the cooperation extended to the AECC and support in all activities organiza>>.
