The Brotherhood of the Samaritan woman, Mary Magdalene and Holy Thursday celebrates the blessing of the new image of the Brotherhood, created by renowned sculptor José Hernández Navarro and sponsored by Henry and Sandra González Ujaldón
The Brotherhood of the Samaritan woman, Mary Magdalene and the Holy Supper is honored to invite all stakeholders to the blessing of the new class of St. Mary Magdalene in the church of San Juan Bautista.
The image, created by renowned sculptor Murcia José Hernández Navarro, is sponsored by the Director General of Fine Arts, Enrique Ujaldón, and the secretary of the Brotherhood, Sandra González.
The blessing will be held on Thursday, March 18, at 2000 hours.
Santa Maria Magdalena parade Friday
The president of the Brotherhood, Cecil Garrett, says the new image of the Brotherhood parade Friday in the Holy Burial Procession.
"The size is larger than usual in comparison with other images, Maria Magdalena measured 1.60 cm while the other images come to be measured only 1.40 cm," the president of the Brotherhood.
Cecilio Garro, who received the title of the Nazarene of Honor in 2008, relates that Mary Magdalene is discovered "because Jesus had covered his nakedness with his handkerchief."
The carving is made from real cedar, which protects it from insects, polychrome in gold of 22 carats.
Mary Magdalene will wear a crown and a short black cloak over his shoulders and carried in his hand a black scarf.
The image will look like a dress in green and gold, a perfect combination plates obtained by applying gold and green streaks on height.
