"Abarán dresses in green to celebrate the Week of the Environment (26/05/2010)

Abarán Mayor and Councilman for the Environment presented a campaign of awareness and sensitivity to the environment whose slogan is a tribute to this area, the river, agriculture and natural enclave where the municipality is located

"Abarán City Council is committed to the environment."

This was stated this morning Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, presentation of the "green dresses Abarán" which was accompanied by the council in this area, José Gabriel Cano Montoro.

The City has prepared a week of activities to mark the World Environment Day, commemorated on 5 June, by which it aims to raise awareness about "the responsibility we have towards our environment," said the councilman.

"We can not wait for our river nobody cares if we do not collaborate or have a clean town if you do not contribute to it, and is therefore everyone's job every day," said Councillor for Tourism and Environment, José Gabriel Cano Montoro.

"Abarán is lucky for all abaraneros a green dot in the Region of Murcia, as the slogan of the campaign we wanted to pay tribute to our agriculture, ecology, our river and environment," said Cano.

The head of the Environment said that the events planned are aimed at all levels of society who want to learn what can be done with objects that would normally discard every day.

"We have organized recycling workshops that are going to allow this type of learning," said the councilman.

Cano Montoro said that this is a week of participation, "probably because the environment is a discipline that requires all of us to agree on the need to protect our environment, our river and our mountains, something really insurmountable," he said.

Environment Week opened today with a varied program

Environment Week began today with a visit to the glass recycling plant "Camacho Recycling" in Caudete (Albacete), so far have moved 40 people from various associations for the process of recycling this material.

It also includes activities at school, with the representation of the Storyteller "The last fairy," Triscenio Theatre Company, and animation workshops, whose aim is to start to make children aware of the importance and care of the environment.

Among the proposals for this conference, recycling workshops will be held at CIMA and also the next day June 5 rally will be a photo.

"We will try to get those who have a knack for photography, and fans who want to participate, to capture the shots most significant of our environment in order to gather a large gallery of images of our town," said the councilman.

"There are three prizes to be awarded at a ceremony on the occasion of a tribute to Juan Manuel Martínez Soler, one of the most iconic masters of our educational body who wishes to acknowledge their contribution to development and knowledge of a particular as well as Abarán are their wells, "said Cano Montoro.

This event will also take place on 5 June at 20.00 pm in the Teatro Cervantes.
