II Contest of short story by journalist Pedro Soler (30/07/2020)

The City Council of Abarán, together with the Cajamurcia Foundation and La Verdad, has convened the 'II Pedro Soler journalist short story contest', which deals with the world of journalism in honor of the name of the event.

The presentation ceremony, held at the Municipal Library of Abarán, was attended by Jesús Gómez Montiel, mayor of Abarán; Felipe García Carrillo, Councilor for Culture, and Miriam Martínez Abellán, plastic artist who authored the poster for this edition.This national contest, which in its first call received fifty hundred unpublished stories from different parts of the Spanish geography, awards a first prize endowed with 800 euros and two runners-up of 100 euros each.

In addition, the winning work will be published in La Verdad, in its printed and digital version.The works submitted to this call, open to those over 16 years old, must be original and unpublished and will have a length of between 800 and 1,500 words.The deadline for admission of proposals is from Thursday, July 30 to October 15.

The jury's decision will be made public on October 30 and the award ceremony will be held in Abarán before the end of the year.The jury is made up of the official chronicler of Abarán, José Carrasco, and the journalists José García Martínez, José Carreres, Manuel Madrid, Encarna Yelo and María Soler, daughter of the honoree.
