The steps taken by the Hon.
Abarán City Council, at the request of this association, for the updating of the Archaeological Charter of the Region of Murcia in the Municipal District of Abarán, has had its fruit, with the inclusion of 6 new sites for our town; with the consequent cataloging and administrative protection.
With this, Abarán has gone from 18 to 24 archaeological assets distributed throughout the geography of Abaranera, which represents an increase of 33%.The ordinary plenary session of the Abarán City Council on December 12 approved, unanimously, the motion presented by the Department of Culture and Heritage, at the request of the "La Carrahila" Cultural Association, for the review and update of the archaeological chart in Abarán, that, since its creation in 1979 and revision in 1999, had been outdated, in part, by the new findings and studies carried out by this association.From our association, we publicly appreciate the commitment of the municipal corporation and the diligence in the resolution of the files by the General Directorate of Cultural Assets of CARM; a clear commitment to the defense and conservation of our archaeological heritage, so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.The new abaraneros archaeological assets included in the Archaeological Charter of the Region of Murcia are:Shelter of the Barranco del BuitreCueva de las CucalasCups of the Malojo RavineMortar bowlPath of PatraxPeña Bermeja (Abarán-Cieza)
