Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, and the Councillor for Sports, Federico García Montiel, presided over Friday in the City of Abarán, the closing day of the 2009-2010 season of School Sports.
The event was attended by students, physical education teachers and directors of schools of the town, who enjoyed an audiovisual projection created by the Department of Sports, which summarizes the sporting year.
Councillor for Sports, Federico García Montiel, highlighted "the role played by each and every one of the physical education teachers and directors of the respective schools for all activities throughout the year."
"I want to extend my appreciation for their participation in physical education teachers and principals of different colleges," he said.
Federico Garcia stressed "the work of all components of the Department of Sports, monitors and technicians of all facilities for their work."
Also, the council congratulated "all the schools that have participated and especially to all those who have achieved podium positions."
"I would encourage the whole school community that you continue to participate as you have done this year and enlarging the school sports, that view this as a sport that involves habits that are beneficial to health," said Federico García.
The councilman said that "the important thing is to participate" and expressed his desire "to return next year to have these high levels of participation and repeat these successes achieved so important."
For his part, Mayor Abarán, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, joined the congratulations of the council and highlighted the excellent turnout and thanked the cooperation, involvement and support of all present and highlighting the importance of the practice of sport.
