Abarán expanded its educational facilities, entertainment and leisure (25/03/2011)

The mayor of the municipality inaugurated this morning the extension and improvement works of Colegio San José Artesano, the work of remodeling and equipping the youth of the slums areas Hoya del Campo San José Artesano and the proposed alignment of the Hermitage Library informal reading point

Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, opened this morning, accompanied by the Director General of Department, María José Jiménez, works to expand and improve school infrastructure in the San José Artesano, a project funded entirely by the Ministry of Education, Science and Research with more than 863,000 euros.

The event was attended by the center's director, Francisco Peinado, as well as the directors of a local primary school.

Gomez noted that "facilities are exemplary to respond adequately to the needs posed by this center."

He added that "it is a happy day for parents and students and teachers and ultimately for Abarán, because it has another magnificent structure for training."

Improvements in youth spaces in San José Artesano and Hoya del Campo

Then the mayor of the town, next to the Councillor for Education and Local Development, José Luis Tornero, and the headman Arqués and José Antonio Benavente, inaugurated the work of remodeling and equipping of youth centers in the slums of San José Artesano, an amount of more than 14,000 euros, and Hoya del Campo, totaling more than 5,000 euros.

These projects have been financed Focus Program Leader in the Regional Programme for Rural Development which Abarán City Council presented a total of 12 projects, of which 4 have already been made.

Antonio Eugenio Gómez explained that these facilities have Internet lounge and games, football or table tennis, and involve "services for young people."

The work consisted in the fitting of windows, toilets, or repair of cracks in the ceiling, as well as leisure facilities to "give young people a meeting place," added the mayor of Education, noting that over 200 young people have already made use of these infrastructures.

Moreover, the head of the City of Abarán, along with mayor of Education Jose Luis Tornero, discovered the plate project to adapt the library of the Hermitage as a casual reading.

Tornero said that the achievement has been "on the one hand, to rehabilitate a landmark building Abarán and suitability for its location and its prestige on the other hand, give it a point to get informal reading for abaraneros."

The investment for this project, also framed the Leader approach has been of 24,000 euros.

For its part, the mayor stressed that "has made an investment in value and approach to reading."
