Midwives have been universally recognized as first-line health workers for mothers and newborns in the global campaign to reduce both morbidity and mortality (WHO-World Health Organization).

The midwife develops their skills in sexual and reproductive health and these are addressed to women, family and community throughout the life cycle, as well as newborn care during the first month of life.

This information item has already been done in other years in Murcia and Cartagena in order to inform and answer questions to the public as well as to inform the work on these issues in the Murcia Health Service (Department of Health and Hospitals).
