José María Gómez Carrillo, a preacher of Christmas 2008] | "Night of the Child Lla night Abarán abaranera par excellence, the perfect setting for live Christmas" |

D.

José María Gómez Carrillo has offered in the Parish of St. Paul an emotional and loving Christmas Proclamation which brought together over two hundred people.

Accompanied by family and friends, "Joe, the Carpenter" - as known in Abarán pointed that the family meeting, dialogue, and finding love and care of the baby Jesus, are the real Christmas.

The pastor D.

Vicente Martínez García, who was a priest in Abarán between 1988 and 1990, has been commissioned to present to the preacher, whom he joins a long friendship.

The mayor of the municipality, D.

Antonio Eugenio Gómez has been presented with a badge of the town.

A Christmas concert by the soprano Carmen Iglesias, the male soprano and pianist José Ramírez Begoña Tomé, have put the finishing touch to this ceremony officially announcing the start of the holidays in the locality.

The Parish of St. Paul has been the scene of emotional Christmas Proclamation provided by D.

José María Gómez Carrillo, a man who lives and feels Abarán and has always tried to promote everything about its people.

Known as "Pepe the Carpenter", his affable character was revealed in an intimate discourse through which states the reasons for the Christmas party existential identity and commitment as Christians, as family reunion, where dialogue, love and search and host of the Child is born, are the real Christmas.

Citing verses from San Lucas, D.

José María Gómez noted that his responsibility as a preacher is to remember the mystery of the birth of Jesus, "the most important thing that happened to mankind, this is the motivation of Christmas," he continued, "the announcement of the angel to the shepherds.

The angel is the real preacher, "he says.

His narrative has focused on memories and anecdotes of his childhood, the need to celebrate Christmas with our loved ones, and has proposed this time of year as a time for reflection on the current situation we live in a globalized world where wealth and well mixed with injustice, poverty, hunger and violence.

Gomez also had words of affection in memory of two deceased friends, "Fernando Gomez, the Sacristan, and Carmelo (Florinda), and in memory of Luis Augusto Evaristo and Puche, reviewing typical moments of these dates occurred in your neighborhood (La Solana).

His words have come everyday aspects of life in Abarán, like the sound of cascañetas, accompanying the voices of the choir of the church during Mass in Gozo, or Night of the Child, a typical holiday village.

"The Night of the Child, said," is, without question, the night abaranera par excellence.

It is possible that our party has no parallel in any other part of the world. "

"It's the visit - the child continued," God makes us year after year in each house, where all people receive it with humility and love, especially remembering loved ones who are no longer with us. "

This tradition is commemorated long and according to the extended version, arose when the town suffered an epidemic. "Most of the neighbors that were populated in bed sick and therefore could not go to church to worship Image of the Child.

Then the priest thought - if these people can not come to church to worship the Child Jesus will go to their homes.

And it was, or could be, "he explained, the principle of this blessed story."

The night of the Child is celebrated on January 6 and the Brotherhood of Souls is in charge of organizing this event, the complexity is worth mentioning.

D.

José María Gómez has repeated the honor that he's supposed to be a preacher of Christmas, "an honor for someone like me, he said, brings little merit, perhaps the only one to love intensely is our traditions and especially what they mean as a whole Christmas and The Night of the Child. "

"Maybe," he continued, "look like at this time, people tend to be better.

You see many more smiles on the street, more health, more joy.

You always wish it were Christmas. "

In his speech stressed that "Abarán is the perfect setting to experience the intimate Days of Christmas" and invited those present to share the culture of these parties with different generations, as well as the illusion wait for gifts or time to assemble the expected Bethlehem, typical of this time.

"Hopefully, he said, that my grandchildren continue this tradition, so beautiful and so Christian."

The preacher concluded his speech with words full of feeling: "Christmas is an excellent time for men and women of good will, possessed by the spirit of Christmas we are able, as far as we can, to seek the remedy of pain the other, a feast that we celebrate with family and friends, in which we try to fulfill the words of the Child whose birth we celebrate, so that one day is always and for everyone, CHRISTMAS. "

Proclamation of Christmas 2008

Good night, officials, priests, lords, ladies and gentlemen, friends:

It gives me joy and pleasure to offer the Proclamation of Christmas and a great honor to speak of my people at this time so endearing.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be here tonight and share with you my experiences.

With the arrival of these dates come to mind memories of my childhood so indelible recorded when a bunch of lads and we picked shepherdesses firewood, brushwood and canes to prepare the "lumbrenaria" (which is what we call here), announcing that the imminent arrival of Christmas.

Toured the site of Jarral and its gardens were looking for anything that might serve to burn.

Also we moved to the Ravine of the Carrahila, we tied the branches with a rope and dragging or "back" as we brought the people to leave in a corral of friends or colleagues until the eve of the Immaculate Conception is when did the first " lumbrenaria. "

In all quarters of the people prepared their own and in each of the lads we formed "bands" with a mission to jealously guard their wood and if possible take the other to assume that theirs was the greatest and most lasting.

This entailed we have some players with the opposites (soft, of course).

I almost always was in this mess and some neighbors told me I was the baddest of the neighborhood, it might be true.

La Solana, who was then my neighborhood there were many zagalotes not left behind as Joaquí "The Pajero", Bernardo Guillamón, brothers Jesus and John Chapin, Guillermo González marble, Carlos de Filiberto, Manolo Moscardo, Fernando Cot Antonio Saorin, Fernando Gomez, the Sacristan and Carmelo of Florinda, the latter two recently deceased friends. A very special memory for them.

There were many more (I will not name them all) and I think we were just bad rebels, something typical of our age.

At last he performed the "lumbrenarias" and drew neighbors old and useless equipment.

Not many, but enough to have fun.

Over time and with the arrival of other generations, they changed the characters, but fires were still burning them both in the Old Town Square and in other parts of town.

Firewood and old appliances were picked up in the yard of the square, where today the pharmacy and reforzábamos fire truck with a pallet of junk and old Jesus Tornero, son of Ms. Piedad was responsible for bringing from your store.

The lads did not have many problems for the collection of firewood, but the location of the fire.

Progressive Car began to populate the place was difficult to find a gap and so that morning and announced the "lumbrenaria."

We, and I say we, because I was also involved, to move the arm between all cars and leave a more or less safe for any accidents that occur.

The shepherds were the brothers Joseph and Nino, Marieta, the Fuentes brothers, Jesus and his brother José Joaquín Antonio, Angel Ariño, the grandchildren of Mrs. Piedad, Almudena, Eli, Leticia, Lourdes, Ana and my sons and Inés Raúl also Augusto involved Puche that other lad became more together.

And so it passed more or less things.

Already very close to Christmas, when I started our adolescence, our parents told them that several friends were going to Mass in Gozo and despite being too young and that it was still dark, we do not put many impediments.

I said to my mother - Mama, put the alarm at 7 and a half, not make me late, if you see no flames I wake up before they come my friends.

My father made me the first cascañeta I had.

Already in the church choir got together over 30 lads, when the women sang a carol, we made our cascañetas sound rather haphazardly.

Estanislao, the sexton's good, we broke some in our head or any other body part for us Portaro correctly.

Years passed, I remember in the eighties, a person dear to me, I said - Let the masses rejoice in our zambombas cascañetas and to encourage our carols, I went with him willingly.

The enjoyed everything about our people, participating in the events that were scheduled.

This friend was Luis de Evaristo, a great person who will always be in my memory.

From childhood I always had the illusion of having a Nativity scene.

I liked to see they had some of my friends, although not very big to me it seemed.

The main group was born, with the Virgin Mary, San Jose and El Niño, the ox and the mule.

I pay too much attention to the river that lead paper.

- When can I get one? - I wondered.

The economy at that time was very poor, although the figures were not very expensive, I could not have.

Time passed and I got married the year I finally bought the first birth.

It was plastic, but I was overjoyed to have that birth at home.

Over the years I could form a Bethlehem with clay figures of various artists from Murcia, and my children enjoyed while we were putting the figures.

The Portal to the shepherds adoring the Child, the river and running water, the ride, the village, Los Angeles Kings and announcing the coming of Christ, to be completed so that even friends are watching it.

I hope my grandchildren continue this tradition, so beautiful and so Christian and always remember the important things that happened in humanity, the birth of Jesus.

According to the text of Luke that says - Do not be afraid, I bring you good tidings of great joy for all people: Today in the City of David, you is born a Savior, Messiah, Lord.

And here you have the sign: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger -.

This is the motivation of Christmas.

This is the announcement of the angel to the shepherds. The angel is the real preacher.

And here's my responsibility tonight proclaim the biggest mystery of human history.

Mystery is announced to some shepherds, who despite their simplicity will understand why God makes one of us.

It is Jesus himself said - I thank you Father, for hiding these things from the wise and prudent of this world and revealed them to babes.

On one occasion I heard that the entrance to the Basilica of Bethlehem is very small, so that everyone who goes through it has to bend down, must humble themselves become small.

This is the Christmas that identifies us Christians and we have a responsibility not to lose.

The real Christmas is a family gathering in an atmosphere of dialogue and love.

The true Christmas is a search and host of the Child to be born.

All this we have had and continue to celebrate in Abarán, because our people and the people are the perfect setting to experience the intimate days of Christmas.

I lived it and this experience in which I share with you, to bring to mind many memories, and also invite you to convey to this generation what our parents made us live.

My mother told me long ago when I was little (he was then 6 or 7 years), on the night of January 5, my grandparents told him to put the shoes on the balcony for the Kings let him gifts.

She had a beautiful black patent zapaticos and left on the balcony waiting for the Kings would have remembered it.

The night was wet, she waited with great hope to arrive the day to collect their gifts.

When opened only found his shoes full of water.

What greater grief!

Magi surely forgot to go through the door.

On the night of January 5th is the night of the children.

They look forward to the cavalcade of the Magi as they know they are going to bring some toys they ordered.

For some time the children write their letters to Santa asking what they want.

Before there were written, because what could you bring up an eel was surrounded by marzipan peladillas that days before we saw in the windows.

Twelfth Night or Night of the Child recall the times in the Plaza and the young age was to pretend we were looking for the group where the person was that we liked.

We used to go dancing between two rows of friends and sing something from "YOU DANCE, YOU DANCE" more of a courtship emerged from that time.

When we visited the homes of friends and family to kiss the image of the Child, gave us so typical sweet as butter, escaldaos and rolls, and so we would not put a copic empalagáramos us coffee liqueur or brandy or sweet anise, all from a cylinder.

In other invited us with flowers of corn with salt and sugar in a beautifully presented us with the Clubs' Elisa Alphonsa.

Of this almost 50 years ago and even today when I see reminds me fondly.

The Night of the Child is arguably the quintessential abaranera night. It is possible that our party has no parallel in any other part of the world.

It is the visit of the Child God makes us year after year in each house, where all people receive it with humility and love, especially remembering loved ones who are no longer with us.

This tradition has been commemorated since long time and according to the extended version the people came to have an epidemic.

Most of the neighbors that were populated in bed sick and therefore could not go to church to worship the image of the Child.

Then the priest thought - if these people can not come to church to worship the Child Jesus will go to their homes -.

And it was, or could be, the beginning of this holy history.

The Brotherhood of Souls, which I had the honor of belonging for many years, is responsible for organizing this event since time immemorial, and appears in the book of Minutes dated April 20, 1901, being then pastor D.

Jose Candel.

It is not easy, though it may seem, the organization of this day. The Brotherhood is doing everything in its power, but every year it is more complicated.

Need collaboration.

Hard to believe that the truly abaranero day, when almost everyone has to be exceptional, as we want as to any and all presume, no persons to assist in this work.

The Brotherhood needs a strong support, often lack the power, but you can not lose a tradition with so much effort and enthusiasm we inherited from our ancestors.

Also I remember the visit to El Niño does in the morning to all hospitals in Murcia, where they are sick and Abarán family.

They are very emotional moment which they live.

I would like the group that came to the Holy Image, which initially was very large and it is getting smaller again have a good number of people accompanying our Child with enthusiasm, so that they are not hospitalized abaraneros alone and always remember that day when they were ill and away from home, the Child Jesus and a number of abaraneras abaraneros and fondly remembered them.

Being a preacher of this year is a great honor for someone like me, brings little merit, perhaps the only one to love intensely is our traditions and especially what they mean as a whole Christmas and The Night of the Child.

Christmas is essentially religious party, we celebrate all regardless of our beliefs, so to some, perhaps many, have sometimes a touch more fun, than spiritual.

And yet, in general, it is possible to see at this time, people tend to be better.

You see many more smiles on the street, more health, more joy.

You always wish it were Christmas.

But neither is always Christmas, or for all it's Christmas.
