The Department of New Technologies of the City of Abarán information on the replacement of optical technology to the new traffic lights, LED energy saving purposes, through a grant from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Consumer Affairs, through the IDEA ( Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving of Energy).
A traffic light with LED technology against a conventional (incandescent or halogen) saves about 80% reduction in consumption.
Another advantage is improved traffic safety, in terms of reliability, durability, longer life and improved luminance perceived by the human eye.
The municipality has 13 groups Abarán optic lights 200mm 3, 4 headlights 2 light 200mm and 6 groups optical pedestrian lights.
The optics are operational since 5 January.
