The works in the city center starting next Monday (19/01/2010)

The Town Planning, Services and Personnel, José Gómez Carrasco, appeared this morning at a press conference to inform citizens about the works will commence on Monday 25 January and that will affect the center of town.

In particular, the works will include the replacement of infrastructure and paving at Plaza de la Zarzuela and installation of the Network of Warm Rain in David Street.

This project is covered by the Works and Services Plan 2009 for an amount of 284,234 euros and will be carried out by the company Construcciones SA BRUESA

Gomez noted that the purpose of undertaking works in Plaza de la Zarzuela is to complete all construction plans storm that has been done in the area (Dr. Molina Street, San Miguel Street and Constitution Avenue), in order to resolve stormwater problems in the municipality.

"This project will address water accumulations occur on rainy days and make the road impassable for pedestrians," he added.

The action plan will begin next Monday at David Temple Street will be closed to traffic.

The Town Planning has indicated that the car park users may not use or during working hours or on certain nights so will enable the arena of the Plaza de Toros as alternative parking.

It is anticipated that the works in this first phase completed in a week.

Works in Plaza de la Zarzuela

Plaza de la Zarzuela in the works will include the replacement of the supply network with a small renovation of sidewalks and street lighting and the replacement of the pavement.

"It was closed to traffic from the corner of Jaime Flores so buses can not access, this forces disappear Cajamar parking in front and on the sidewalk of Banco Central Hispano," said Gomez.

The councilman said that detailed information to residents and businesses.

The first meeting will take place this week.

Works are expected to complete before Easter.
